My grandfather Sydney Alexander Sherman was born on this day in 1908, two months after Cab Calloway was born. I like to imagine my grandfather in his early 20s listening to this back in 1931. My aunt, mother’s sister, Juanita J. Fossett was born in 1931. In fact, March 2 is next week. Aunt Juanita’s been dead for 30 years.
