Song of the Day: July 31

July 31:  I’m savin’ my love for you… ‘“Ain’t Misbehavin'” written by Fats Waller, Andy Razaf & Harry Brooks and performed by Fats Waller in the movie “Stormy Weather” from 1943. (Here’s a lyric video so that you can sing along with Nat King Cole.)  Also, check out this animated movie about Fats Waller called “Jazz Time Tale”; it was the Propp kids’ favorite movie when they were in elementary school.   LYRICS & SONGFACTS  SPOTIFY

Song of the Day: July 26

July 26:   She went to find a jolly hour on the trolley and she found my heart instead… “The Trolley Song” from “Meet Me In St. Louis” from 1944.  This song was written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane and sung here by Judy Garland.  In memory of my wonderful mother-in-law, Vera Ruth Winston Propp, whose genius parents, Irwin & Alice, moved Vera and her brother Peter from Germany to St. Louis at the beginning of World War II.  We are forever grateful.
