Song of the Day: November 28

November 28:  I am thankful for many things; I’m especially grateful that my parents met at a Thanksgiving dinner.  It’s a great story involving a cute teenage girl and a set of identical twins (confusion ensues); if/when you see them ask them to tell you all about it.   “Uh! Oh! I’m Fallin’ In Love Again” by  Al HoffmanDick Manning, and Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore in 1958 and sung by Jimmie RodgersLYRICS & CHORDS  SONG HISTORY  SPOTIFY  P.S. I’m also thankful to you, fellow singers/subscribers.  I love sending you a song every day.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Song of the Day: November 24

November 24:  Aren’t you my little songbirds from the cafeteria?  “School Song” from Stand By Me.  There are so many things I love about this (thank you, Russell, for the suggestion) including the choral rehearsal 2:00 into the clip (George Weigle’s 1981 Orphenians & Swinging ‘Gates circa 1981: don’t you love “Ain’t a-that Good News”?  That’ll definitely be a future Song of the Day.)  INTONATION, PHONATION, ACCURACY & PITCH!  LYRICS  SPOTIFY

Run, don’t walk, to Staples High School to see the Staples Players‘ production of Mamma Mia! The website may say “sold out” but I’ve been told there are almost always tickets available before the show so GO!  It is truly impressive (not to mention: FUN!)  Today’s song was chosen by the Foisie family; their daughter Camille is playing the lead (Donna Sheridan) and she leads a cast with voices and talent you won’t want to miss.
